Welcome to Village Roots Collective

A Safe And Joyful Place To Learn Through Play, Exploration & Connection

We are a play-based, cooperative microschool and homeschool enrichment community for children ages 3–14, where learning grows alongside the child. Younger learners build confidence through play, creativity, and hands-on exploration, while older students engage in collaborative projects, critical thinking, and meaningful real-world experiences. Our skilled educators create developmentally appropriate opportunities for children to connect, create, collaborate, and grow, supported by parent volunteers.

Where Learning Grows Alongside The Child

Village Roots was created to give families something many of us were craving – community. A place where children feel safe, connected, and free to be themselves while growing through play, exploration, creativity, collaboration, and meaningful experiences.

From our littlest learners to middle schoolers, we create developmentally appropriate experiences that honor each child’s unique pace, voice, and personality. As a cooperative learning community, families and educators work together to nurture confidence, curiosity, belonging, and a love of learning.

Rooted In Connection, Growth & Community

In classrooms structured around cooperative play-based learning, children tend to display more positive social behaviors, like

Belonging

Children learn best when they feel safe, known, and respected. We create an emotionally healthy environment where children trust they belong, their voice matters, and differences are welcomed.

Student Voice

We believe children are capable participants in their own learning. Through play, inquiry, projects, and discussion, students help shape experiences through their questions, interests, and ideas.

Curiosity & Creativity

From imaginative play to collaborative projects, children learn through exploration, experimentation, creativity, and meaningful hands-on experiences that spark confidence and joy.

The Power Of The Village

Village Roots is more than a school - it’s a cooperative community. Families, educators, and children work together to support one another, model collaboration, and create meaningful connections.
